Why is my new phone number displayed when I dial out, but no one can reach me?

Premature Display of New Phone Number During Porting Process

SYSTEM ADMIN.

Last Update 1 年前

During the phone number porting process, your new carrier may prematurely display your new phone number before the port has been completed. This is a form of number spoofing, where the new carrier is displaying a number that has not yet been officially transferred to their network. When you make outgoing calls, your new number will be shown as the caller ID. However, since the port has not yet been finalized, incoming calls to that number will be directed to our carrier's network, resulting in a "pending activation" message.

What's happening behind the scenes:

  • Your new carrier is preparing for the number transfer by updating their records.
  • Our carrier still has the number active on our network, awaiting the completion of the port.
  • The premature display of the new number is a temporary discrepancy between the two carriers' records.

Resolution:

  • The issue will resolve itself once the porting process is complete, and the number is fully transferred to your new carrier.
  • If you're experiencing issues with incoming calls, please contact your carriers support team for assistance.
